ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted July 16, 2005 I don't think all the empty space at right is needed Link to comment
markonestudios 4 Posted July 18, 2005 Hi Ken. I was experimenting with cropping, and felt that the space added an element of dynamism to the photo. However, I've tried a tighter crop above, and sharpened it a bit. What do you make of it now? Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Mark, using extensive space is sometimes hit and miss. It works with some images and not with others. But keep trying it out. I agree with Ken here that the space could be reduced to what your edit looks like. I wish the the colours on her clothing were more prominent. Link to comment
markonestudios 4 Posted July 29, 2005 Thanks for your comment. I'll keep trying different croppings. As for the lack of detail in her clothing, it was a pretty sunny day. I'll see if I can burn in a bit more detail. Watch this space...Best regards from Kenya, Markwww.photo.net/photos/mk-pixology Link to comment
kenwu 0 Posted July 29, 2005 This picture looks a little over photoshoped. The edge of the subject looks blurry even though it lays in the same depth of field. I think that having a sharp background dosn't always create a competing subjects problem, especially when the background isn't that interesting. Link to comment
markonestudios 4 Posted July 29, 2005 Cheers Ken! Just as a by the way, the main cause of blur was actually not PS, but a soft focus filter on my lens. That's why only her face is truly sharp. Link to comment
