Hi Bente: Red chairs and red poppies -- I'm beginning to discern a color trend! What's interesting is that the placement of the chairs is a bit like the placement of the poppies -- seemingly random, rather than in some carefully aligned order. What that means, I have no idea. But it makes for a pair of colorful and interesting photographs. --jim

I have red Adorondack chairs on my front porch... love them. This is a great burst of color Bente!

Dear Loft ... thanks ... how is the weather in Holland ... and how is it thursday-friday next week? .. smile

 

Jim ... yes, you got it right. I hve a great weakness for hte red color ... and it here it was repeated 4 times in the chairs, once in the border on the wall ... and in a way in the floor too ... more then I was able just to pass without shooting. The accidentally placement of them ... I didn't do that (-; ... but if it was me I guess I would have placed them same way ... a little accidentical suites me well.

Regina ... so they are called Adorondack Chairs ... then I learned something new again. I bet they look nice on your porch and those here are in a matter of fact also shooten in Florida in front of a aligator pharm when I was there in March. Absolutely not a common chair in my country ... neither on my porch. Thanks for telling me Regina ... and maybe you can tell too why the chair has that name?

Not sure why the name Bente, but the Adirondack Mtns are in Western NY state (I think...anyone know their geography better than me?) and they are pefect for leaning back and enjoying mountain scenery.

I like the composition, too. I might be tempted to crop out the right side a bit more to the edge of the red-bottomed post and eliminate it, but that's me and some might like the bit of balance the red there adds.

Thank you Kim ... about cropping out the red spot I also had thougths of that as you have but came to the conclusion it belonged there to make the line together with the chairs. The photo somehow seedmed empty without that red spot ... just my opinion. But thanks for taking the time to tell me your opinion .. worth listen to.

I think the only thing missing is a nice cold drink sitting on the table or the arm rest. A pretty green lemonade, or a "rita" would suit just fine.

Colourful and nicely framed. I like the variety in the chair details.

The arrangement does seem haphazard but the composition really works. . . you may not have arranged these chairs but you certainly picked the right vantage point to shoot this image. . .
