Wow! So twisted. Gotta say that I adore this one. Fantastic originality and a really interesting use of color.

Sorry, Jim. I don't think that anything could be further from the truth. Kim clearly has a very specific artistic vision that she's expressing in a unique and interesting way. The fact that the image isn't 'safe' or 'tame' is clearly part of the equation. I don't see anything wrong with her technique. In fact, it appears very refined to me in that the composition, approach to exposure and color, the make up, costume and staging of the image are all elements that she made a calculated effort to control. I certainly respect your right to dislike her subject matter and/or to be unable to see eye to eye with her artistically but I think that calling this piece amateurish is incredibly unfair to her. At least, that's how I see it.

apparently many people are ignorant of other styles of photographic visions on photo.net there are too many people with biased opinions. too bad Jim doesn't have the ability to read into an image and interpret it.

 

Clearly this image is about bulimia and vanity. This image is my reaction to the flood of websites that are devoted to pro-ana and bulimia. This is me mocking them.

 

It's not like this was done for shock value alone or to just be humorous. It carries a message. Too bad many people can't see that.

This is my favorite photo. The colors are so out there and Kim's features are what make this photo...so very striking.
