Detail of Theater in Singapore. It's shaped like a durian (and if you don't know what that is, you are indeed fortunate). :-)

I like the effect you made with this detail. We lost a little sharpness with jpeg compression on the edges.

Super! I really like the composition, plus the subtle shading of the white to gray is wonderful. Perfect exposure! Plus, I had no clue what a durian was, so... I looked it up. Says they taste good, but smell bad! Now that's different! Sounds something like blue cheese. I wouldn't actually know, since I just can't force myself to taste it! It just smells too bad!:)

I don't want to offend any Singaporans because it's their national fruit, but man! If you stuffed a dirty sweat sock with blue cheese and linburger, it would smell like roses next to durian. I've lived overseas most of my adult life and it's the only thing I've ever seen that I just could not eat (I did force down three bites or so).

Never had the pleasure of eating a durain... but it sounds like the big brother of a Caribbean sour sop. At any rate, this durain-shaped building and your skillful interpretation of it are viaually appetizing and satisfying. --jim

I want to thank you for pointing out the difference in black levels on my "Ka-Boom" posting. I'm now using a different machine and monitor and I can see the difference and it sticks out like a sore thumb. My big monitor that I use to edit is now compressing the black levels way to much and no matter how I set it up I cannot see the subtle differences in black levels. This is the second time this has happened. Time for a new monitor I guess. I'm going to erase that posting and reedit. I hate doing that after someone leaves a comment.

This is a great shot. I really like all the horizontal and vertical lines here. The light change on the panels in the curve of the building is outstanding.

good architectural shot. i amore interesting emblem of singapore than the douche-lion at the harbour.

getting my $.02 on durian - i don't understand the obsession. it has a strong, pungent but not really disgusting smell. it tastes like a mixture of fried garlic and onio, and it has a texture of an overripen mango. so what's the big deal? an unusual combination?
