jayme 0 Posted July 14, 2005 Whoa! This is really neat! Such color, such light and detail. Really well exposed! Link to comment
billfoster 0 Posted July 14, 2005 Why thank you, Jayme! It's a neat place. Unfortunately, this picture (and most of my Singapore ones) are a bit of a cautionary tale. I waited an hour for twilight for this shot. Then, I took the memory cards to a store and had them copied to CD as I was out of cards. I verified that the files were on the CD in the store but didn't check the file sizes. They copied all my 3.5 Meg full size photos as 500 K low quality JPEGS. I didn't discover it until I was 6,000 miles away. I learned a valuable lesson! Link to comment
billfoster 0 Posted July 15, 2005 A detail of the gopurum (entrance gateway) of the Sri Mariamman temple in Singapore. It dates from 1843 and ss lit at night by fiber optic lights (which, presumably, do not date from 1843). Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted July 15, 2005 Nice work Bill. Although, I think for the reasons you mentioned, the image didn't come out as strong in quality because of the size in which they were recorded. All that aside, I like the colour. At certain places, the faces of the statues are rather blown out. By the way, "Hindi" is a language, "Hinduism" is the religion. I take it that was a typo given that "u" and "i" sit next to each other on the keyboard. Link to comment

cherlyn 1 Posted September 19, 2005 Agree with CHips. As a Singaporean, we overlooked this composition. Very well exposed for a difficult shot. Link to comment
