digitaldee 0 Posted July 11, 2005 Great panning! I like it 'cause the background is very picturesque Link to comment
stp 6 Posted July 12, 2005 I'd give you a 7/7 for the title alone. The image is very nice, too. Link to comment
stumpf 0 Posted July 28, 2005 I would call this an action abstract David. The background here becomes the subject for me, while the bird gives it resonance and meaning. Wonderful. Mike. Link to comment
Coho 2 Posted July 28, 2005 Thanks for all of your comments. I like this image also and really like the idea of motion blur. Being successful at it is difficult. After my first successful attempt, I went back to the same location and tried it again. No successful images after 100 attempts. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 26, 2005 It is great. The title, though, could be improved since it really looks like a "Warp Bird"... I have the same question of another bird-shot of yours, namely whether a tighter crop wouldn't give more "energy" to the bird. In principle I think it might, but here I feel that the "warping" effect could be a bit lost. However, less structures in the warped background might give more relevance to the bird, since it is a bit unfortunate that its colours are the same of that diagonal structure. Did I mention I like that the bird is in cold (a.k.a. static) colours while the background is in warm (a.k.a. dynamic) colours and this contrasts a bit with the usual perception of something warm moving against a cold background ("Why are Ferraris mostly red?") Do you have a shot of the background w/o panning? Just my curiosity! Link to comment
