Willow Creek in Winter 2

LenMarriott

Second of a series of photos taken at this location in the winter of 2004 during a field trip with fellow PN member Greg McCracken, seen in lower right, (and a really good sport seeing as how it was -27F that morning). I took about 10 shots that morning, some of which already appear in my 2004 folder in B&W as well as colour. My next few posts will simply fill in the blanks. All these posts were originally in colour but were desaturated in PS using Channel Mixer and whatever filter seemed best for the shot. Thanks for taking the time. Tech details: 1/8 sec @ f16, tripod & cable release. Best, LM.

Second in a series of 10 shots taken on 24 Jan '04 during a field

trip to Willow Creek, Midhurst, On. with fellow PNer Greg McCracken

(lower right). Originally in colour, I decided to desaturate in PS

using Channel Mixer and whatever filter gave the most satisfying

visual result. Where blue skies are of significant size the red

filter was usually used to darken them and in shots without blue

skies I sometimes used the blue filter which seemed to lighten the

areas of snow lit predominately by those blue skies. Some

satisfying results for the discomfort of the -24 F temperature we

endured. Best, LM.

Imanol, Thanks for the enthusiastic response. Don't we all love to get them? This was taken with my beloved, all manual, 'T' because my flagship Bronica SQ Ai batteries crapped out due to the cold that day. The 'T' is obviously not ready for retirement yet. Best, LM.
