Good shot Jerry. I wish I knew how you did it. I have tried and failed to get up close and personal with a few Cormorants and they weren't having any part of it. Kudos on this one.

nice clarity and isolation of the subject, and well done colors. the crop is an interesting effort to make this a more unusual shot. i haven't made up my mind about it one way or the other after sitting here for a few moments. debating whether i'd like a closer crop around the subject or not.

Beautiful aqua eye and silver beak. I had no idea their beaks were this color. Well done. As for the crop, I kinda want to see it more in the left third (damn rule of thirds), but that's just me, and I'm sure you had your reasons for cropping like this - maybe to make the eye the center of attraction?

Hi Jerry, Nice shot! I think I would definitely crop it more tightly, less space top and right with the same aspect ratio (rectangular). Great color and background! -Greg-
