cappoldt 0 Posted July 11, 2005 Nailed it - this is about the most original shot of a couramant that I've ever seen. Also captures their personality quite well. Teleconverter didn't hurt this shot a bit. Noted the one of him stretching the wings, too - they do that a lot, here - is it cooling themselves? I'm not sure. Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted July 11, 2005 Thanks for stopping by. This one is about 50 feet away from me. Cormorants stretch their wings to dry. The one shown here I believe is a Double-Crested Cormorant. Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted July 11, 2005 A Double-Crested Cormorant looking right at me when I took the shot. Comments and suggestions welcome. Link to comment
bryan olesen 0 Posted July 11, 2005 I second, and third Chris's originality comment. Nice background also. Cropping dead-center might help the effectiveness of this shot. Very cool. Link to comment
louise bridge 0 Posted July 11, 2005 I think it's great because of the twist to the bird's neck, as well as the in your face sort point of view. In my opinion cropping would spoil the way this image works. Link to comment
wingell 0 Posted March 2, 2006 This is a wonderful image--beautifully composed, full of character. It really makes me wonder what that bird was thinking. I've never seen such an evocative wildlife shot. Well done! 7/7 Link to comment
