Nice picture. Well balanced lighting and good details.

Once aagin, simply gorgeous- the rainbow is unbelieveable. . .not to mention the sharpness of detail in the background. Jerry, this is a VR lens? Was this hand-held, or tripod-mounted? I read that the VR lenses aren't well-liking of tripods - what's the technique here?

Sorry to see the 4 ratings; if this is average, then 99% of the shots on this site deserve 2 or 1.

Well, sometimes even 4's bother me abit but you cannot please everbody. Here is the technical data:

Nikon D1X with 24-120mm/f3.5-5.6 VR hand-held. Exposure at 24mm/f9, shutter speed 1/180 with -0.3EV. ISO is set to 125 with PL filter applied.

This is also a full frame and picture was taken from above the brink (kind of upper deck of the brink) with 1/3 of my body outside of the fence. Well, just for your info and off the record - I do have a thing with the height but I always kind of forget about this when I try to find a better angle to take a better shot. Bad bad habit!!!

Now for the record. I personally think this 24-120mm/f3.5-5.6 VR is worth every penny that I spent on it (I got it used for less than $300 from eBay about a year ago). It's sharp, compact with great focal range. The only feature that is missing from this lens is Macro (taht's why I still keep my 24-85mm/f2.8-4.0). A great landscape lens IMHO.
