Fishing in the Sunrise Mist II

chris_venhaus

I normally don't take pictures of people, but I couldn't resist this after no luck trying to do a morning landscape.Even with my lens hood on, I had to position behind a big tree to shade the lens from flare. Was only able to set up and shoot 2 frames before the boat moved into the shadows. I removed a silhouette of another fisherman that was hanging off the main fisherman's back. Also did a bit of dodging and burning.

Just goes to prove that photography is at its best when we don't follow rules--even the rules we make for ourselves. This is a great image. I'm glad you decided to take a landscape shot with someone in it.

I live in the Netherlands and have plans to go to W.I. next year (Eau Claire area). Now I want to jump on a plane and go right now! The lack of sharpness gives this picture a nice romantic touch. Very nice picture.

Yes, the colors are for real- they're actually alot better on the slide- much more vivid. I caught the sun at just the right agnle, and the mist was really something to see. Thanks again, everybody :-)

Would have called it "fish from hell", but is the best fish pic ever!
