peter d 0 Posted July 9, 2005 This is what I want to learn to do. Pictures like this!! As I looked at it for a bit it seemed a bit busy. Think I might have cropped that top cloud. Of course it is easy to say these things when looking at someone else's work. Mine is not nearly as good. The word Majestic comes to mind when thinking of this photo. Link to comment
f. monteiro 0 Posted July 9, 2005 Fantastic point of view! It looks like a B.C. landscape. The most incredible piece of land I've ever seen! It really dwarfs one down. Great landscape shot. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted July 10, 2005 Awesome view, really worth the climb... If already @17 mm, I would have tried a vertical panorama of two landscapes for a square format and a Golden section sky/ land ratio, since the sky is so beautiful here Link to comment
tomaszfiertek 0 Posted July 10, 2005 Beautiful, beautiful. All is pretty . Impressive view onto mountains. It congratulates Link to comment
gmh2 0 Posted July 11, 2005 I recognized this shot because it is almost identical to the net cam of Banff. You must have seen it when you took this shot? Looks like you caught it on a nice day as well. Link to comment
the_watcher 0 Posted July 11, 2005 flynn: Sorry for the previous rating as when I saw the small picture I really felt it's an ordinary picture with too much ps manipulation, 'cause of the compression. But when I see the enlarged one, it really surprises me. It's really a good picture with high quality. I apologize again. Link to comment
flynn 4 Posted July 11, 2005 Thank you all for comments. I have never seen Banff webcam, but yes this is probably very famous photo spot. Link to comment
ymages 0 Posted July 11, 2005 excellent shot !!! how is it possible that someone give 2/2 for it ? Link to comment
diana-van-tankeren 0 Posted July 11, 2005 Excellent shot :) @erick boileau. Trust me, there's many fruitcakes out there that love to give low ratings at really good pictures. Now, what's it called again... oh, yes... jalousy! Link to comment
flynn 4 Posted July 11, 2005 Thanks Diana. I think Mr. George Fisher http://www.photo.net/photodb/user?user_id=1712142 who rated 2/2 expected to be anonymous. Rating is now a little complicated, one sort is showing with names and one is anonymous. My picture is mostly calendar type of panorama and I can admit that this kind of shots lacking true creative elements. But Banff and similar locations really calling for this ?pleasure? postcard vistas and I think there is nothing wrong with that. I tested my new 20D and Grad filter and I am happy with that. So I did expect critique, that I could be more creative or something like that. The 2/2 rates I didn?t expect. Link to comment

v 0 Posted July 28, 2005 Are you KIDDIN'? Did you just draw it and then scanned it?? What a BEAUTIFUL PLACE! man, I wanna go there, too!... Link to comment
tar heel 0 Posted July 3, 2009 Sorry to be a downer here, but this image is way over saturated and way too contrasty. The Dynamic range is very bad, and although the view is great, and this image had potential, it falls way short in post, I feel. Link to comment
anthonyposton 0 Posted July 3, 2009 What a beautiful image, what a beautiful place! Nice work! Anthony Link to comment
paul_aylett1 0 Posted July 3, 2009 It's Gods country. I took a holiday here once on the Rocky Mountaineer, Banff and Lake Louise - particularly stand out. Great job, you brought back some happy memories! Link to comment
