Truth is that it is an earlier upload in colors turned monocrome with a brush of blue

Very pleasent and well-composed backlit shot. The bluish tone is great. My only reservation is the somewhat busy and dark lower right part of the frame. BTW, where in DK did you find this scene?

Against the light is also very beautifull Bente, but somehow this one gives it something extra must be the blue. and like Ken and Janet are saying this is realy a peacufull place to ponder.

I like the strong composition using the receding lamp posts etc and their shadows. The monochrome and high contrast gives it a look rather like a film poster. Nice atmosphere.

Haven't seen the original yet, but this one's is as cool and refreshing as a North Sea breeze on a hot summer's day. The long late-afternoon shadows -- it has to be late-afternoon, and not early-morning for the light to be this cool -- are to my eye what really make this scene "pop." The way you've composed this with the lines created by the posts, railings, benches, curbstones, etc., converging at a vanishing point somewhere on the horizon would make it a solid shot in any case. But the lampost shadows running counter to everything else add a perfect dissonant note. And, of course, I love the faint brush of blue!

Venus was vonderful. Or was it was Mars? I'm always getting the two confused -- but they're both great places to visit, as long you eventually find your way home. Thanks for the kind and thoughtful welcome. --jim

Love the blue tint to this. You took an artisitic chance with this coloration and it works well. Very appropriately titled. Wonderful shadows and highlights. Well done, Bente.

Comparing those 2 shots (color and toned), they are poles apart, yet both are beautiful in it's own way. And although they both depict the same scene I can not choose a better one of them, as each is so different. In the color version the dark area on the right is not so deep and distracting, which is my only remark... Jiri
