Path Through Grant's Woods

LenMarriott

I happened on this scene while on a field trip through Grant's Woods, a local conservation area of virgin hardwoods. Gotta go back in the fall. Tripod mounted, cable release, and auto exposure through a polarizing filter. Scanned on entry level flatbed from 4x6 print. Slight sharpening and levels adjustment in PS. Comments greatly appreciated. Best, LM.

Len, I wonder what this would have been like if you had stepped to the left a little and let a bit more of the path into the bottom of the frame. I like these shots with paths disappearing off into the distance. This works better for me than the other one as there is more contrast between the brown and green.

Jeff, Good point! I frequently criticize others for creating tension in their work by doing exactly what I've done here & placing major elements too close to the frame edge. On the plus side this is a local location and I should be able to re-take it next spring. Thanks for taking the time. Best, LM.

Nice details Len. I know how difficult it is to take an image like this and still get perfect exposure. Good job.

Alec, Lucky for me that I can return to this location for a retake. The whole area is worth visiting at least a couple of times a year. Much potential here. Best, LM.
