Dragons in the Balinese Jungle

A lovely view of the natural surroundings in the Monkey Forest of

Ubud, Bali.

Those dragons are tough to spot, Alec. Any estimate as to how big these were? I tried several different crops but found nothing of interest for this shot. Regards.

Hi Richard. The dragons are as big as grown horses carved out in sandstone and covered with moss over time in the jungle. Seems like a scene straight out of a Spielberg movie. I wanted to show the scale of the place that's why the wide view.

 

This close-up I have submitted much earlier. I'm going back to Bali next month with Bilal and Gul (PN members) as it's a great place to explore and shoot islandwide.

I still can't imagine their size, Alec; that's a huge sculpture. Thanks for the information.

Seen them in National Geography and in Singapore Zoo. Here these are camouflaged among the green leaves.

Interestig scenery. But the dragons's sculptures (very beautiful) are indeed to much small...
