I don't know how you get these phenomenal closeups, but they are wonderful! This one is amazing!

You must spend a lot of time crawling around with your face in the bushes for these! This one is definitely one of my favorites.

I hope never to see one! Holy cow, this thing is creepy! Like some sort of evil rotten stuffed-animal waiting to pounce. Very well done.

Well, i think i'll consider moving my home to Australia. Did you heard of a cheap apartment or something, not too far from those fascinating insects you live with ?

I have one at the back of my place,if you ever decide to come to Australia to do some photographing, you are welcome to use it, and it won,t cost you anything as long as you can put up with hundreds of croaking frogs an eccentric hubby and a crazy woman and of course all these great insects and bugs.

extraordinary detail on the face and the antenas Birte! I've never seen a moth this close before, great job.

Thank you for your comment on my image Fatal Attraction on July 4th. How is the new lens? is this shot taken with it?

Best regards.

Birte, i took good notice of your invitation. Beware, i might land someday in Australia with the 20D and the 100 mm ! I like bugs, and i don't object to crazy woman, so i've no hesitation... Tell me, is the 180 mm harder to use than a "smaller" macro lens ? I've read that dealing with DoF with this kind of lens is just hell. (Took me one full month to begin to tame my 100 macro).

Yes it is hell, and its so heavy, I am still battling with it too,I have only had the thing about a month....but just started using it about three weeks ago...this moth stayed put for awhile and I was able to run in to get the tripod......and I meant it if you land in OZ you are welcome.

Wait...I've got first dibs on the cabin! Now I'm REALLY going to have to save up...unless I get sidetracked with a nice new camera like yours!
