B&W study. Your comments and suggestions (especially about the

contrast/tonal range) will be much appreciated.

Greatly composed and captured. About the tones ... well ... the overall image is much too "grey". The edges a bit exagerated. The background is a bit too grey also. I would dodge the birds a bit. And with the background ... don't know what to say. Maybe to create some gradient of some sort using Burn-tool and Dodge-tool.
