maria 7 Posted July 1, 2005 The dog in the picture accompanied me during the walk through Alfama. It is a romantic part of Lisbon, with winding narrow and steep streets, remained so from the Middle Ages. Fado, a traditional portuguese music, refers often to Alfama. thanks for your time Maria Link to comment
arraga 0 Posted July 1, 2005 The dog's butthole is distracting. Underexposed in the foreground? It's a high contrast and difficult scene. A bit soft. Link to comment
maria 7 Posted July 2, 2005 Hi, thanks for the comment. I cropped the dog (partially). Well, the fact is that always my pictures include more than what I've seen when taking the photo throught the SRL. In the majority of cases this is actually and advantage. I uploaded yesterday the images quite in a hurry without making any changes except the size in pixels and did not scroll the big version. On the smaller it was less disturbing. The exposure is optimised for the wall on which is written "alfama", the part without reflections. thanks again Maria Link to comment
maria 7 Posted July 2, 2005 Thanks for the comment. I've let the DTP software sharpen - is it better now? I have a tripod, but it is heavy, and since quite long I renounce taking it with (since 99 actually). I used it with the video camera some times recently, but only for longer scenes taken from the same position. kind regards Maria PS: I forgot to attach the original image to the previous comment, so I do so now, in order to let people know to what were the first 10 anonymous ratings done. I hope it is OK for photo.net Link to comment
