alecee 0 Posted June 28, 2005 Taken this afternoon on a hot day with natural lighting. There were a few tired travelers dozing off on the cool carpeted floor. Managed to avoid them. Lovely Moorish architecture. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted June 28, 2005 Thanks Guillermo, Christopher. Well Andrew the guy gives us a scale of the place. No problem in replacing another shot without him but I think better with him. Link to comment
c brake 0 Posted June 28, 2005 Excellent exposure and clarity. I really like the way the chandelier compliments the curves of the arches. Very nice use of lines and patterns throughout the image. Link to comment
Bilal Zaheer 0 Posted July 4, 2005 Alec you've actually captured it very well! if it was without the tourist, it would be perfect. Link to comment

igor_leonidovich_mestman 0 Posted June 25, 2009 I will go along with 'lovely' modern or contemporary eclectic Islamic interior design, but 'Moorish architecture' is, in my opinion, a bit much of a stretch. This near equivalent of an Islamic Rococo, with seemingly over-polished fluted alabasters and electrical fans is quite ultra-modern. You handled depth of field very well. Lighting here is a difficult issue. The acanthus greens, post Abd er-Rahman III and Hakam II 'ivory carving' and 'bronze work' :-) irons, as well as the heat treated railing and carpeting need more lighting to reveal details of texture beyond mere outlines. The round, multi-cusped, and pointed arches of the interior are Nice. So is the inverse arch contraposition of lighting fixtures. The exterior (see: www.molon.de/.../Singapore/Mosques/img.php?pic=1) reveals a fusion of clearly Oriental, rather than Spanish/NW African Umayyad period architecture. Almoravids and Almohads would have loved this… Link to comment
