carsten_ranke 0 Posted June 28, 2005 I like both, but this would be my favourite if I had to chose. The clouds are just too beautiful to be cropped by the landscape format - and their reflections should be shown, on the other side. Maybe its too static, but I tried a pano of both shots, what do you think ? Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted June 29, 2005 Carsten, I think it looks great--it would certainly allow me to make a very nice print of about a meter long. Now, can you point me to where I can learn to stitch? I'm using Photoshop CS. Thanks for your suggestion: it was much appreciated. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted June 29, 2005 This was a quick job with Canon`s PhotoStitch software that came with my 300D, quite easy but you need two images of the same size. With PS CS, you could open both images, then File >> Automate >> Photomerge and use the option "save as layers". You could work on the blending zones with a gradient layers mask and the brush then, more versatile than the PhotoStitch sw. Probably the best solution is PtGUI v3.7, a PanoTools graphic user interface that handles 16 bit/channel TIFFs (the other sw does not, even PS CS Photomerge not !) and it is extremely powerful. You can create really large prints, stitching is fun. Regards Carsten Link to comment

robertbrown 1 Posted July 1, 2005 Carsten, thanks for your suggestions on stitching--I'll try it this weekend! I'm pretty good with basic PS functions, but nothing real complex! Link to comment
