stevengood 0 Posted July 20, 2005 i like the concept; i think i'd like to have the saturation punched up a bit - particularly the blues and yellows. Link to comment
joelle1 0 Posted November 15, 2005 If you'd not named it White Sands I would have thought it was a cropped section of the photo. I'm sorry but it really doesn't work as there is no definition to the sand at all. Link to comment
aaronsizer 0 Posted November 15, 2005 Well, that's kind of the point--the vertical layers emphasized over the details of each individual section. Link to comment
aaronsizer 0 Posted November 16, 2005 Ok, I'll inveigh against the low ratings on behalf of my own shot. I have to say that I like this picture a lot. I was impressed by the diversity of the landscape, and I liked that it could be captured in this interesting, vertically layered way. I like that the line of the sand breaks the symmetry up a little bit on the right side. I like the discreet bands of color. Does anyone else get frustrated by low originality ratings on pictures they put a lot of thought into? A "3" for originality says to me, "You just shot from the hip without giving any consideration to line, color, texture, exposure, interest, or anything else." Does that seem to be what I've done here? Link to comment
