davidroossien 0 Posted June 23, 2005 I like that there are 3 distinct colors (besides green, which is filler and doesn't capture my attention) that capture my attention. Middle left is gray/purple, subject is light orange, background top is orange/red. The out of focus stem is neat because it crosses the subject where it is sharp and in doing so adds depth. The brown colored leaf in the upper right doesn't do anything--more filler. Complex photo of a simple subject--good use of DOF and color. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted June 24, 2005 Well, I can't take credit for the serendipity that occurs when I make images like this. The variations in opacity and translucence were what interested me. I like the way the negative spaces turned out - something that I find difficult to envision when viewing it in 3-D. Thanks for your interest David. Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted June 30, 2005 This is beautifully done, Hanna. The muted colors of spring are captured well in this one. Although everyone has some pictures of fall colors, I think that the subtler display of colors in the trees in spring is much harder to pull off. Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted January 15, 2006 The lighting, the color, and the composition of this are first rate. Its so simple yet its so captivating. Its been awhile since I looked at your portfolio. I had forgotten how much I liked it. The overall quality is quite good. But your flower photos are my favorites. Some of them are absolutely stunning. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted January 15, 2006 Larry, thanks so much for "rummaging in the archives". You've cheered me up immensely and believe me, I needed it. Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted January 16, 2006 You are welcome Hanna. There is a lot of beautiful material languishing in the archives on Photo.net. I have always thought it was a shame how images seem to fall into oblivion three days after posting them. So once in a while I try to break out of the mold and go rummaging. :) Its a bit late but I hope the new year treats you well. Link to comment
