Day's End

WJT

Exposure was 1/4th second at f22. Gitzo 1325/Acratech ball head. Lee 0.6 ND grad filter. Adjusted in Ektaspace using Photoshop CS. I think this looks best in LARGER VIEW, if you have the time.

Walt, this is very, very well seen - and marvelously composed. The flowers make for fantastic leading lines, taking you in to the fence, smaller structure, then to the church.

Love that you shot this with the Pentax - bet this would make a stunning print.

Walt, between that marvelous foreground leading to the church, and that sky with the ND grad filter, this is as appealing an image as I have seen in a very long time.

Have you printed it? I would like to know what you did and how it came out, if you did.

Beautiful shot - the flowers and sky are particularly good. Isn't 'peaceful reoollections...' a quote from L. v Beethoven?

Walter ... what a wonderful mood this portrays! Almost like a painting ... but better. I am envious of those shooting larger formats. When I turned 50 I thought that would be really nice, but I borrowed the company photographers camera and decided to stay with 35mm. These kind of shots make me have second thoughts :-)

Nicely done Walter. I like the warm hues on the grass as well as on the clouds. Next time, you plan to go shooting there, I would love to tag along. :-))

THe warm colors, the gentle curve of the land, the perfect DOF, the sky & church all make for an absolutely enjoyable vision. Wonderful.
