I have seen this picture in geography text books as an example of how a meandering stream that cuts its way into the ground can get stuck that way. this picture is better than the one in the book.

I hope my color isn't far off. Just do a liltle search, I see quite a few pictures of this on the the web. They are different in color. Probably it's different times of the day or year or maybe film type also. Exposure wise, it's challenging. It took us three days for this soft even light to come out. And thanks to Hung Ton (cool guy) who recommended me to do it in raw (NEF). It helps to reserve the details of the picture. Thanks Byron for the critique.

Great shot, Drew! I believe you can fine tune it even further in Photoshop. However, some people may not like any digital alteration. Well done and thank you for your rate of one of my photos.

Very nice Drew. Seems like the water level has decreased since I was there. Must be taken close to evening as the light is soft. I used 4 vertical shots to get the same image for better resolution.

Thanks Drew for looking at my shot. Your timing of shooting it during the evening light is much better. I have a higher resolution and the shimmering sunlight reflection and passing cruisers added drama into my image.

As it is a long walk up you must have camped there to get that super colors. Kudos to you for your patience.
