markboyer 0 Posted June 20, 2005 Great lighting on her, Kim; not a blown out spot anywhere. And her expression is perfect for the shot. Nice. Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted June 20, 2005 Nice profile. By the way, one of the things I like is how you have the rain drop against the window which adds something nice to the shot. I like the split background between the wood and the glass. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Thanks, Mark and Amar. Lighting was a bounced flash and a reflector. Worked out okay, considering it was a dull day. Link to comment
raywei 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Great job, I tried one using a similar approach and failed. Glad to yours worked out well. :D My only thought is "what if the model has a bit more look room?" But this is good shot as is. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Wonderfully classic profile. The skin tones are soft and beautiful. The circular earring adds balance. I also, like the split background. The background L shape compliments her profile. The raindrops on the window and the natural blur add to the beauty & interest. Super job! Very Moody! Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted June 21, 2005 I wouldn't change a thing. Everything works. Looing at the image evokes an immediate emotional reaction. Link to comment
watermark_of_merni 14 Posted June 21, 2005 Very nice mood to this. The rain drops on the glass, the angle to where she's looking. A beautiful composition ! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 22, 2005 Thanks, everyone. I almost didn't go through with this shoot as Kelley got there about 2 hours after I wanted her to be, and it was pouring rain at that point. I figured nothing would turn out, especially since it was my first portrait shoot, but a lot of them worked out and I was pleased. Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted June 22, 2005 Hi Kim, I like the shot a lot. The skin tones are wonderful and your control of the bright light outside is masterful. The raindrops on the window complete the story. If I may though, the three raindrops just above her nose seem a little distracting. Hope that's not too picky. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 22, 2005 Everything said Kim, it is realy a nice portrait, and the rain adds to the whole scene. Pnina Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 22, 2005 Thanks, Jamie - hadn't really noticed the spots. Will check my printed copy to see if it's distracting on it or not. Thanks for visiting, as always, Pnina. Link to comment
within 0 Posted June 24, 2005 Beautiful skin tones and very well lit. One feels the saddness within her and only wishes to unvailthe sun and bring back that smile that blesses beauti! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 24, 2005 Thanks, Richard. It's funny, when Kelley DOES smile she looks like a little girl. But here, she looks quite mature. She turned 14 the day after I did this shoot. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted July 2, 2005 New to portraits. Used a diffused flash and reflector on a rainy day. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted July 3, 2005 Thanks, Arthur and Tiina. I think Kelley may have a career in modelling ahead of her, if she chooses. Link to comment
