kslonaker 0 Posted June 19, 2005 This one hurts my neck! :) I like it, though - interesting mix of texture and lines. Still can't quite figure it out. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted June 19, 2005 turn counter clockwise and that's how it was taken. It is a paved bank leading up to the underside of a bridge, now under reconstruction. When it came off my camera like this, I liked the horizontal composition, and the way the ground becomes a wall... Link to comment
w. roger keagle 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Such a wonder, your mind, guess that is one of the attractions, and hopes of being bored=ZERO... ! Fun stuff, and sorry about your neck Kim ! Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted June 19, 2005 The lines and texture on this are amazing. Also, and I never saw this before, as you scroll up and down the image seems to move as if it is animated. One more thing, the use of light is also way above average. I would say this image cannot be improved. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Thanks, and you are right about it looking animated...how strange! Roger...glad to know I haven't bored you yet! Link to comment
watermark_of_merni 14 Posted June 22, 2005 Your rotation and the tones in this is appealing to me. These forms work well together, the vertical lines between the bricks mimic the vertical ones in the beam. The bricks taking more space then the beams lead my eye to the wall. You have made a wonderful architectural abstract! - Merni Link to comment
schneekranich 0 Posted June 24, 2005 very interesting, the light on the stones being my favourite detail here.Congrats for your painting on the bio, puts you to another century or let's say makes you timeless ;-) Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted June 24, 2005 Wow! that is a nice stone revetment there! Beautiful work whoever did that. Plate girders with web stiffeners, rivetted, so probably pre-war. Transverse bracing for added torsional strength. Ow, my neck. :-) I like the idea but as a bridge addict I would be happy with it the right way up. I like the light on the stones also the blue and brown tones heading off towards monochrome. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted June 24, 2005 Colin...I should have figured you'd find this! Thanks for your expert opinion on the engineering aspects! Andrea...the light was slightly enhanced through PS, as well as the texture of the stones. Merni...thank you for your understanding of my intent! Link to comment
WJT 609 Posted June 28, 2005 Hi Linda. Isolating archetectural/structural elements with the intent to compose them into a visually stimulating abstract is a skill that I seem to lack. On the other hand, it would appear that you do not. I have another friend who also excels at this (curiously, he appears next to you in my Interesting People list). If you like, you can see some of his work here and also here. Regards. Link to comment
harnstrom1 0 Posted June 28, 2005 My first thought was - Why not? An interesting work, the rotation makes it abstract in my mind. Well done. Link to comment
