colin carron 58,916 Posted June 17, 2005 Another shot from Cabo da Roca in Portugal where the Atlantic batters against 450 foot cliffs. Link to comment

alexandra rauh 0 Posted June 17, 2005 Very satisfying to look at.The light comes in so cheerful, what leads to the dark ocean. The details and colors come out so rich, it makes it to this unified picture. Link to comment
bentes_world 0 Posted June 17, 2005 I already recognized the place from the thumbnail. Great of you to show this version with so great details. Nice light and the foam on the waves lookes really nice here. Well done. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted June 17, 2005 Thanks everyone! Jan Olof, Alexandra, thanks - the colours are mostly due to underexposure needed to keep the detail in the white water of the waves. Christopher, thanks, I needed to use PS to bring out the shadow detail. Bente, thank you! I thought you might recognise it! Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted June 18, 2005 Beautiful combination of colours. The red colour of the rocks and the blue in the ocean. Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted June 18, 2005 Very good tight shot, nice diagonal layers composition. Colors and lighting are superb. What a majestic scenery ! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Very nice, Colin. I like that you can't see a horizon, making for two main (and contrasting) elements, the rocks and water. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Colin- this is nice, kind of dark and desolate feeling, but I love the light and shadows. Nice job! Link to comment
pjmeade 12 Posted June 20, 2005 Hello Colin, exposing for the white water has brought out some very nice colours in the rock. The textures are very good too. Best wishes. Peter Link to comment
sef1664877429 0 Posted June 20, 2005 Interesting layers. My fav bits? The grass, a textural contrast against the rocks, is also making me notice the vegetation on the middle cliff. The middle cliffs also have a mini-me thing going on with the rocks right at the bottom. And the whole picture is balanced out by the diagonals of the waves and the triangle of blue matching the first two layers. Which is all very dry and clinical, so how about I just say I bet those waves sounded great... Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 20, 2005 Colin, the beautiful brown rock"looking" at the blue water, and the diagonal composition are making it for me. Very good exposure and light and the waves especially in the forground are adding to the beauty! Pnina Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Colin, nice color and composition. The little bit of side light hitting the red rocks is effective in revealing texture. ^_^ Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Hi Colin!! I stopped by briefly to see what new stuff you've got up ... and this is FABULOUS!! You KNOW how I love landscapes ... and this makes me want to stop in Portugal while I'm in Europe. :-) It's a gorgeous spot, and very well captured here. Your DOF is great!! Regards! Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted June 21, 2005 Beautiful seascape, Colin. I can almost hear the waves lapping against the rocks. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Colin, looks so desolate and yet fascinating. Love the light and composition. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted June 21, 2005 Thanks everyone! I really enjoyed this place with its massive cliffs and edge-of-the-world feel. The sun was coming in and out from behind clouds and lighting up small areas as you can see here. Thanks again, I appreciate all your kind comments. Link to comment
