alaska wolf 0 Posted June 16, 2005 Really a nice shot. Your use of DOF is good. The waitress is in the picture, but not distracting from you subject. There is a lot of clutter, yet it is out of focus enough to give the setting without distracting. Nice work. I also like your choice of B&W for this picture. I suspect that a color version would not be near as good. 6/6 Regards, Wolf. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted June 16, 2005 Howard, I like this portrait of Mr Content. He is enjoying his coffee and your attention. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted June 17, 2005 I for one would have hard time capturing something like this. Nice slice of life. IMHO, anything at all to improve this technically would be cropping off the top right bright ceiling lamp and maybe brighten up the main character a bit. Small nits really. A pleasing image. ^_^ Link to comment
warren williams 0 Posted June 17, 2005 Another good capture, another great character! Yup, I agree, excellent use of DOF. Warren Link to comment
jvophotography 0 Posted June 17, 2005 Great capture! I agree with Wilson on the bright spot although I wouldn't crop it. I like seeing (but not seeing) the waitress in the background and a crop would leave her a bit chopped. You might try cloning it out. Great personality in this one! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 18, 2005 I'd clone the bright spots in the background, but otherwise leave the cropping as it is. I love the DOF on this composition, Howard. Your eyes go from the man to the waitress and right back to the man again. His expression is delightful. Link to comment

jnicholson 0 Posted June 18, 2005 What a nice big slice of Americana. Makes me want to head to the local diner. There's a real happy, days-of-old with a modern twist feel to this picture. Link to comment
jvophotography 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Much better. Although... now the second smaller bright spot catches my eye. :-) Am I being toooo nit picky? Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 24, 2005 Another nice street shot, Howard ... I like the tones, bright on the subject, darker on the background. I also like the FOOD that you can see!! :-) Link to comment
