hanna_cowpe 0 Posted June 16, 2005 Shooting through the iris. Long hours of hard work in the garden brings its rewards. Thanks for stopping by. Link to comment
amitai schwartz 0 Posted June 16, 2005 Beautiful color and composition. I like the shallow DOF. It works well, IMO. Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted June 17, 2005 I agree. The only nitpick I have is how close the bottom right iris is to the edge of the frame--it kind of works, but kind of distracts too. The right iris has an interesting flair to it. Link to comment
louise bridge 0 Posted June 17, 2005 I don't share the nitpick and I like your iris. They all bloom at once in a big frenzy, irises. After that the leaves can be quite elegant too though. I have some iris pictures where the neighbors' backyard amenities are too distracting. Maybe I will try some blurring like this. I admire your picture, I think I will attempt to imitate it myself. hanna_cowpe 0 Posted June 18, 2005 Thankyou Amitai and Louise and David. Nitpicks don't bother me as feedback of any kind is helpful. David, I guess I was a little heavy handed with the scissors. Here's a less aggressive crop. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted June 18, 2005 Amitai, David and Louise, thanks for your comments, which are all appreciated including the nitpicks which are most helpful. David, I guess I was a little aggressive with the scissors. Here's a lesser crop. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted June 18, 2005 Hanna- this is lovely! So soft, so subtle, just plain beautiful. My favorite flower too! Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted June 19, 2005 Very nice--I like the full version even better. It gives the background some personality without taking away from the subject :o) Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted June 20, 2005 I love the soft floaty feeling of this...as if they are actually birds, not flowers.... Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Thanks Linda. I agree, they do look like birds. I have one that looks like an airplane. How's that for letting the imagination run wild. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted April 9, 2006 Beautiful colours, like a painting. Hanna, you should make more foders to make the viewing for us easier. cheers Jana Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted April 9, 2006 Jana, you are right. I really must get organized. But I have a problem deciding what goes where. Do I put the building reflections under architecture, water scenes, or travel? I take photos of such a wide range of subjects that I need to decide on just a few folders so as not to complicate things. I'll certainly think about it. Thanks for your interest. Link to comment
