This is the second image in my castle series and this shot shows the

side of the castle with the bridge over the moat. In these small

houses lives the castle personnel; the gardener and the housemaids.

For her formal visits the Baroness uses the main entrance, of course.

But now and then....ahum... very often actually, she takes this route

to slips away to meet one of her secret lovers. Don't breathe a

word!:)

I appreciate your comment and advices. Thanks very much.

All the series ( until now ) is lovely. The earth and so warm colors you use for the photos of buildings are wonderful. All photos are ready for cartpostal, to present the beauty of your country. A big Bravo to you Ada. Consider me as a fan of you.

7/7 for 'Efteling'

I think this house looks exactly like the backside of the Droomvlucht:)) (Droomvlucht is a beautiful and enchanted part of a very famous Dutch Attractionparc in fairy tale style, Ada)

Very nicely done and I give you 7/7 but I can't tell this in English and if you like that other people can read this then of course you can translate it. What I like the most in this picture is the tree, he looks so cosy there! and that black fence is nice! and the house too of course!!:))

Greetings, Flore ^_^

It looks like a very warm and inviting place, Ada, although a bit empty since the baroness slipped away this last time.

There is an amazing softness and curvedness that frames the sharp forms of the house. If it weren't natural, I would say you set it up. Is this where she goes while works are being done in the other one?

Well Lannie, it's great that you discovered this nice place. I'm glad you like it. And don't worry about the emptyness. That's temporary. The baroness always come back to the castle after she has paid one of her naughty visits.

Hi Manolis, great to have you here. I really like your remark about the setting. That's why Flore compares this scene with a very famous fairy tale park in Holland. And that's a great compliment because the painter and designer of this park 'Anton Pieck' was widely known for his talent to picture the past nostalgically.

But this scene is as real as can be. I only worked it up in PS a bit to accentuate the softness and peaceful mood.

And yes Manolis, after the baroness has completed her daily programme like having an ample bath, a light breakfast and settled her extensive correspondence, she likes to spend the afternoon in the castle garden, or, she sneaks out. She is a young, unusual pretty widow as you know and she likes a bit of variety.

But this is not only a spot to slip away for her. In the wintertime when the days are short and the darkness falls over the fields in the afternoon the baroness prefers to stay in her room. In front of the fireplace she reads a book or works on an embroidery, while she is dying to hear the gate squeaks quietly on its hinges.

You'r very welcome Cherlyn:~) I love your kind comment and I really hope you will keep up with the series. Cheers, Ada.

Why, 'tis Ada herself! What a curious confessional, widowed now, and thus the name change request.

Your sins are forgiven, my child.

Uh, tell us, my child. . . . How many secret lovers are there?

You have know to catch the baroness at a very fascinating moment! She is visibly happy and full of expectation. But who is the mysterious man who comes to spoil her this afternoon? Will he leave her before the darkness falls or will they spend the night together? All who knows the warm-blooded widow can tell that the last will happen. In the early morning hours, just before sunrise he will sneak off her bedroom. And while he will be lost in the dew which hangs over the spacious fields around the castle, she will nestle herself complet satisfied between the soft and stil warm silk of the sheets and falls into a deep and dreamless sleep.

What sins my dear Landrum???:) I have to tell you that it is all very coincidental. Also the strong likeness must be due to pure coincidental. Because of her beauty, her young age and financial situation the baroness has not to complain about attention. There are many lovers in question, from wealthy peers to poor workers. The baroness loves them all but I know she has a strong preference for one of them. He is the man of her dreams but alas, he is far beneath her class. She can't show herself with him in public and that makes her very sad. Their love is an impossible love and must remain a secret for ever.

Great that you like to join the party:)) Have you ever been in de Efteling with your wife and kids and did you like it? Of course we will wait for you Wilson, so we can do the Droomvlucht and the Fata Morgana and all the other nice attractions together. When do we meet?:)))

Hi Ada, what a place for sneaking out... I like the framing vegetation around the constraction, and the baroness story is a beautiful addition to the mystery...

Efteling? tell me about, as I may take my grandsun to Holland next year...( he will be 13 years old).

Lovely work Ada. Pnina

Dear Pnina, you're really making me very happy with your comment. Thank you so much:)

The Efteling Pnina is a real must when you are visiting Holland. It's a wonderful park build in fairy-tale style and fits for all ages, from 1 till 101. I will give you a link Here you can find all the information about the park. It's more beautiful and impressive then you can imagine. I'm sure you will enjoy it even as your grandson! He has the right age for the Phyton and the Bird Rok. I wonder if you dare to accompany him with these attractions, Pnina:)))

Each year we spend a day there with our grandchildren and every time we and they get a lot of pleasure. If you like to see the whole park and all the attractions, a visit of one day isn't enough. I should recommand you to book a night (or two) in the Efteling Hotel. Wow, I bet you have never spend your night in such a wunderful accommodation.

And when the hotel is booked up, we live on a distance of only 45 minutes by car and we have room enough, so.... perhaps a very nice opportunity to meet eachother, Pnina. I actual hope the hotel is fully booked;) (LOL)
