Hilary, the lighting on this came out very well. Window?

 

Do you like the 100mm macro for portraits best, or do you have a preference?

 

What was your post-processing on this?

 

I'm finally biting the bullet and trying to photograph people, and will take every tip I can get.

Yes, this is part of a window light portrait series i am working on. I do love my 100 macro lens, however, it can be frusterating on the 20D. For post processing, there really isn't much. Slight color balance, but otherwise, she has a pretty perfect face. I smoothed it out a bit with a gaussian blur layer and sharpened up the rest. Good luck with people!!

Outstanding, re the window light. Her eyes are very, very sharp, and the attention stays there, I think - they're well-placed in the composition.
