paula grenside 0 Posted June 12, 2005 And how did you convince him to take off, Alix? Very nice and I love the bird visible below the flying man. Must be giggling:-) Link to comment
lauro1 0 Posted June 12, 2005 Just the right moment. I like that similitude with the background bird. Very impressive shot. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted June 12, 2005 Great timing! The focus is good too and the background gives a great sense of space. Were you standing when you took this? A lower point of view would increase the sense of the height of the jump which would mean the photographer crouching down. Now always easy for us more 'mature' people - especially if we have to move quickly! I like the off-centre placing of the subject. And the bird - I do like to see a bird or two in a photo! alexandra rauh 0 Posted June 13, 2005 So good to get Your Response.Paula,I walked with my husband up this steep hill, where I made pictures. There where two couples doing the jumping.I asked if I can join with my camara, they where happy, and even more, that I could email their picture. That is the way I get my models lately.Colin, thanks for Your advice, I did have a tripod, the lower set,but I could have go down more, even it is hard at old age. And ,I also like Your approval, that I took it of center.I learned that from previous discussion. I am very thankful, You help me so much. Alix Link to comment

mspanakis 0 Posted June 13, 2005 Great concept and excecution, Alix. We all had that ambition once. Now I prefer to invite the birds for a coffee instead... (n'est-ce pas Colin?) Link to comment

mspanakis 0 Posted June 16, 2005 I liked that! I would originally say 'a human with a bird factor' but you are right: this is rather a photograph about birds (with a human factor). Link to comment
sallycd 0 Posted June 17, 2005 I'm glad you made a comment about that,Manolis. My thinking was ,since a man could not fly, really,so the credit should be to that bird. My dear Alix, this was really great. I got to smile when I saw this. You made me happy... And thanks again.By the way,the view is part of that "Hills" right? Kind regards to your dearest, too.sally Link to comment
watermark_of_merni 14 Posted June 22, 2005 Seeing the man as he sails safely above the ground and his form against the horizon. Then the bird glides effortlessly into the open space, makes this an unforgettable photograph. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted June 24, 2005 Alix, there are certain shots which stay in the memory and this for me is one. This is so original combining the jump and the landscape (and the bird) - it really stands out. So I have come back and changed my original rating from 6/6 to 7/7. regards - Colin Link to comment
alexandra rauh 0 Posted June 24, 2005 Colin, I am touched, how You react, thanks for the upgrade, but even more what a wonderful way that thru photographs such a mutual understanding developes. Alix Link to comment
