kslonaker 0 Posted June 15, 2005 I love your dunes shots, Brad - so much texture and great light and shadows. Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted June 15, 2005 Thank you AK, Naftali, Kim... for visiting and leaving kind comments! I love visiting Death Valley NP and photographing the sand dunes.... but I may have to wait until fall season for my next visit. Temperature goes up notoriously high there in summer time. Actually Death Valley had kept world record for many years as the hottest place on Earth. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted June 21, 2005 Wonderful! What light, what shadow, what detail, what texture! They look like rich, creamy waves of melted chocolate. It must be a mirage! :) I love the composition. I love this B&W conversion? A tritone? Did you use the channel mixer, or what? Fess up! Enquiring minds want to know :) Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted June 21, 2005 Thank you Howard, Pnina, Jayme, for your visits and kind comments... Jayme, this is a B&W conversion from color image. I know I can achieve better result by using channel mixer, but I think I am a lazy guy, or an impatient one.... I usually get B&W conversion by dumping out color values from original image... going thru Image>Mode>Grayscale.... but I rather spend more time working on the levels and curves to achieve the tonal adjustments that most please me. I think beautiful tones are one of the critical elements for a successful B&W image and in many cases it is achievable through levels/curves adjustments. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted June 26, 2005 Brad- what a wonderful idea. I have never converted this way. I tried this the other day on a photo and I loved the effect. I find it an interesting change from using the chanel mixer. And faster! Thanks for the tip. Link to comment
ricardovaste 0 Posted May 1, 2009 The simplicity of this one is great, the tones are beautiful. Well done, Rich Link to comment
