The lighting is beautiful, he is in sharp focus but it seems like you tried to blur the background using the compuiter and you couldnt blur it around the edges of his coat. I dont know if thats what happened, but those random shapes right on the edge of the coat bother me a lot. Besides that, great job! i love the expression!

Kevin -- great capture of the local hero :) Terrific expression, and I like the b&w, though you might want to darken the image just a tiny bit. Seems too bright to me. BUT - the blurring you tried to do is a *mess*, and really ruins the image. Be a bit more careful, use layers, or just some more time to clean this up on the right side of the coat, and the line along the left shoulder. You actually did fairly well around the head, but you really need to fix the rest. Still -- nothing wrong with your iamge, you just need to work on the post-processing :)

The blur is a bit obvious, but the portrait, contrast and composition are very good.
