Guest Guest Posted June 22, 2005 Chris, the only thing I can comment on regarding this image is the perspective/angle of view...which is unusual. I have more questions than comments. What is the background? Is the ultra-grainy look intentional, and if so, why? Oddly enough, I see this image in human terms, rather than plant terms, and I don't know why. So. Would you care to give us some insight into intent, or (like me) would you prefer that we interpret the image in our own way? Loaded question, huh?...putting the photographer in the awkward position of maybe having to "explain" his creation. Don't you hate it when that happens? Link to comment
cdaunis 0 Posted June 23, 2005 Jim, the angle of view here is essentially ground level, looking up. The background is the early evening sky (and some stray daisies in the short background). The grain was simply experimental over-sharpening in PE2, I liked the graphic quality it provided. I don't think I approach my pictures with a philosophy or intended meaning, but perhaps subliminally I do. The vast majority of the photography I'm doing now is experimental or illusory, that is, taking known objects and attempting to portray them in a unique way, even discarding the actual object for it's graphic appeal. I appreciate the opportunity to "explain" my creations as I find in doing so I actually discover what I did (as odd as that may sound). Link to comment
