stevenjb 0 Posted June 9, 2005 You have got some interesting woodlands to work with ! Not sure if the green tint works. There is a lot of mystery going on here, and a classic sepia or straight black and white would create an interesting look. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 9, 2005 I like the way this looks...the color works for me, I think it makes the scene forboding...good job! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 9, 2005 Looks like the enterance of an enchanted forest with all these hanging roots, the unnatural color adds to the feeling... Pnina Link to comment

michaelhills 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Wow, thank you all for such supportive comments! Yeah, Frodo was around, but he put on his ring before I could press the shutter ;) I have a few more from this series I have yet to process and upload. Will be experimenting with different post processing techniques which will probably result in each image having its own unique tonal characteristics. Thanks again :) M Link to comment
donald_l_fackler_jr 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Impressive shots Michael. I think what I like the best about these shots is the strong line and paths through the trees. I think you have amazing eyes. (No I'm not flirting with you!) Don Link to comment
vasilis 0 Posted June 10, 2005 Impressive Michael, I agree that I would prefer b&w. Bravo. If the enchanted forest is near you, you can do a lot with these trees, try a person, overexpose underexpose.... thanks, Vasilis Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 13, 2005 WHOA! These things are awesome! I love this series - though the color doesn't work for me in this one. Needs to be less green. More toward sepia, b&w, or something with subtle colors... desaturated by half, a bit of burning. These are fabulous though - work with them! :) Link to comment
michaelhills 0 Posted June 16, 2005 Don/Vasilis/Kathy, thank you all for your feedback. Yes, this sare is actually very close to where I work - and I mean very close! ;) I will be revisiting the area repeadtedly in future during different times of the day to capture it's changing 'moods'. As for the 'colour' treatment, well, I like it - I think it is the non-conformist within me that keeps shouting, "be different, be different!!" :) I will do a straight monotone conversion though, and see if that gets a different reception. And Don, thank you for your compliment about my 'eyes'. And even if you were flirting with me - I'm taken! Haha ;) M Link to comment
