Use of broad light is often times not the optimal rendition, but it works extremely well here. The luminance of the eye in the shadow side of the face is right on the money.

 

Cropping nuances can be subjected to taste, but I wonder if trimming a bit from the left side would improve the impact. It may be worth a look.

I wouldn't want to run into him on a dark night. What a grim expression.

Stefan, terrific portrait. I like the use of the lighting and the portions of the face which are illuminated. It makes for an intense image.

I like the border and dark background, the lighting is nice as well, but you might want to crop or remove the man, he's distracting!
