Thunderbirds 2005 - Jones Beach, NY

Once again, a fan! I'm so jealous of the stuff you get to photograph. I would have liked to see the jet on the right side of the photo just for the illusion of flight. 6/6

With regards to the photos, all of these were taken from the ground with a rather long lens (300mm with a 2x teleconverter)couple that with the natural magnification of the Canon 10D (x1.6) and I had the luxury of playing with an effective focal length of 960mm!

 

With regards to the plane to the right, this jet was not in formation but in the process of a head on pass with another plane from the far right of the beach... I missed the head-on shot but concentrated on the single jet. Wait for the photos from this past week when I was shooting with a 400mm f/2.8... Those make these look soft by comparison.
