markboyer 0 Posted June 4, 2005 This is an exceptional shot. Along with great color and detail, the composition is quasi abstract and emphasizes pure shapes and textures. Really, really nice. Link to comment
andrew_bridges 0 Posted June 4, 2005 Whether intended or not, this is a surprisingly erotic abstract. Nice work! Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted June 5, 2005 Robert, this is a wonderful abstract. I have experimented with abstract flower shots over the years and appreciate how difficult they are. Link to comment
root 0 Posted June 8, 2005 This one works. I don't know how you managed the lighting and exposure, but rension between literal, abstract, amd erotic is a delight. You should post it as a good example of the blurring between "sweet" and "tough" on Mike Johnstons's current article featured on the home page. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted June 8, 2005 Thanks for your comments, Carl. My lighting is basic--usually indirect light coming through a window. In this case, this was back lit from light coming through an east-facing bay window at 7:00 PM. Shot as ISO 100 for 8 seconds, f32. While this is at a fairly strong magnification, I did get quite a bit closer on other shots in this folder. I'll try posting this at the end of Mike Johnston's article. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted June 8, 2005 Jeff, Andrew and Mark, thanks for your nice comments. I shot a series of these, with this one being the most representational (and the best-liked by the masses). Thanks again for stopping by. Link to comment
