robertfarnham 0 Posted May 28, 2005 I think this may look better in black and white, but here's the colour version to start. Comments? Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted May 28, 2005 I agree with Robert abour the Black and White. I think it would enhance the image. Nevertheless I like the composition and again the lighting that you have used as with other work you have done. Link to comment
teru 0 Posted May 28, 2005 Maybe not totally black and white, but maybe more desaturated than it is now. And a tad more highlights to give more definition to the shape of the body. Link to comment
andrew_bridges 0 Posted May 28, 2005 I think a large portion of the aesthetic appeal of this photo is in the flesh hues; the tonality doesn't seem strong enough to make for a compelling B&W photo. As it is, this is an intriguing abstract with some very nice, soft highlights. I can see why this pose isn't used much with nudes, though: the torso looks like E.T. Link to comment
robertfarnham 0 Posted May 28, 2005 Luckily she doesn't look anything like ET in person! Not by a long, long, long shot! Thanks for the comments. Link to comment
peepeyephotography 0 Posted May 28, 2005 I like the comp, and think you've done an interesting job of lighting the subject. The left breast and arm seem almost translucent the way they are picking up the light, looks good in color too. Playboy might not use a shot like this with the wrinkled look on the belly, but it looks natural and interesting to me. It might even be interesting to try a crop just below the breasts - would be hard to tell if the legs opposing were hers or someone else's, but I like it as it is. Nice job. -James Link to comment
larrywac 0 Posted May 28, 2005 I think it is excellent as is...a real person with unretouched skin. Link to comment
eimages 0 Posted May 28, 2005 Excellent lighting, natural and real with a delightful composition. Do you mind providing a bit of detail on the lighting? Thanks Alex Link to comment
robertfarnham 0 Posted May 28, 2005 No problem. Big window light. Radiator runs below its length - about 3 ft high. Drape black fabric over rad. Put girl on the floor in front of the black fabric and have her move around and pose. Voila!! Here's an uncropped shot of a previous post that shows the bottom of the window. R. Link to comment
mark_levesque 0 Posted May 31, 2005 I find the creasing of the belly to detract from an otherwise appealing image. The previously mentioned crop just below the breasts was exactly what I was thinking. To me this is clearly an attractive body in an unflattering pose. Link to comment
robertfarnham 0 Posted June 1, 2005 Can't please everyone. You should stick to Playboy and Barbie dolls. I prefer to people to plastic any day. Link to comment
homem 0 Posted January 14, 2006 I agree with you Robert, the creases in the stomach keep this a real life image rather than making it plastic. Link to comment
