buck forester 0 Posted May 26, 2005 This was the last of three nights on my winter kayaking trip at Mono Lake. It was fuh-reeezing cold and very windy. This is my first real attempt at star trails with a lighted tent in the foreground. There are some hotspots on the tent from my headlamp as I laid inside not wanting to go back out into the cold and fiddle with my camera. I lit the inside of the tent with my headlamp and also briefly lit the outside with my headlamp as well, not knowing how much light would be necessary. You can tell the tent was whippin' in the wind pretty good. I wanted a longer star trail but I also wanted to crawl inside my sleeping bag and go to sleep too, so I opted for just a few minutes length, probably 10-20 minutes or so. No pizza was consumed during the making of this photo. Link to comment
aparajith 0 Posted May 26, 2005 Nice shot. I understand that even under those freezing circumstance when you wanted to crawl in to your sleeping bag you took time to take a snap. Hope you have more time and more start trails soon. Link to comment
teru 0 Posted May 26, 2005 I think this photo really captures the mood of the moment. A very strong feeling of frozen solitude. Link to comment
leee 0 Posted May 26, 2005 maybe if the tent had been further away it would have appeared to be sharper Link to comment
