Roots and sunset

My first submission. I sprayed water on some very fine roots and

photographed at sunset. Nikon 5700.

I think the background really helps this photo, without it the frame would almost be static. The two shapes it creates provide some balance and a sense of placement in an otherwise eratic tangle of lines, tones and focus points. The soft colors also help with this feeling. Your experiment worked out quite well.
