oh, oh, oh, yes! LOVE this! Wonderful capture - very well done, and great handling of the light. This could have gone so wrong I could wish for a bit more detail in the lower clouds as well, but that could be my monitor and not the photo. Wonderful!

there is a tension here that is at the same time terrible and beautiful. you did well catching it as you did.

 

I think I might have cropped the top down from the top to eliminate the blue sky at the top so that the smoke is totally in control and not controlled by the sky.

It is beautiful. The eyes roam from a place to the other following the shapes and the texture of the cloud, rolling around as the clouds must have rolled coming up. The amount of foreground on the bottom and sky on the top of the cloud is very well chosen to give the scale of the phenomenon and the massive amount of the cloud, respectively.

The wildfires were really hitting hard last summer and whole town of Lillooet was on 1 hour evacuation alert. Good luck to everybody.

The smokes blend well with the clouds. The sunset tone adds to its fiery tone, warm in texture as well as in colour.
