maria 7 Posted May 16, 2005 The idea to make it B&W came while I was playing with the colour curves tool to lessen the red and the blue. You can see the original colour version above. Which one do you like more? thanks a lot Maria Link to comment
danroman 0 Posted May 16, 2005 In my opinion a B&W photo is more suggestive. Nice lines though with this one. Good work... Link to comment

maria 7 Posted May 17, 2005 Hi, thanks for revisiting and for the comment. I am glad you like it. I usually don't make B&W, but here it just proved suitable :) I also don't photograph so much contemporary architecture, rather interwar and 1900, but I was turning the whole week daily at the Stephan's place, with this gorgeous building, so took some photos :) The lines are much the merit of the architect B), but the wide angle and myself also did their best to chose the perspective and the capture frame :D thanks again Maria Link to comment
maria 7 Posted May 17, 2005 Hi, thanks for revisiting ... I guess this photo will not go so soon for critique, since I am getting it by letting it on the front page :) Glad you like it and thanks for your time and comment Maria Link to comment

maria 7 Posted May 26, 2005 Hi, thank you very much for your time and comment, I am happy you like it. A luck that it was sunny and the sharpness field was wider than the distance I've set :) - actually I am still refusing to wear glasses, although I now really need to sit close to the blackboard, TV, screens displaying when the tram comes, etc ... kind regards Maria Link to comment
toshio 8 Posted June 4, 2005 I defintely like B&W version better. This image has all the different shades of gray, lines and shapes, and interesting subject. What else do you need? Nice photograph! Toshio Link to comment
maria 7 Posted June 4, 2005 Hi, thank you so much for your comment! I am glad you like it. Well, I usually don't turn original colour photography into B&W - most B&W photos I have are made with B&W film, like the old ones from Bucharest. But this was basically monochrome, like the one with the gate in the Bucharest folder. Here is another one which was colour. And the sepia one in the Lisbon folder was also colour, but for these two the reason was different - there were too many colours not staying well together in the photo. kind regardsMaria P.S. I have noticed that I looked to some photographs of you, in Venice, the Gothic house and the channel with a curved and a straight bank, before the pavement you posted recently. Link to comment
