Ruins and mountains

I have recently decided to convert some of my colour shots into black

and white. What do you think of this one ?

Very attractive black and white tones, and htis is a pretty scene with nice depth. Compositionally, the photo breaks into two halves, which is not usually a good thing, though I can understand your rationale of wishing to get both the castle and the distant valley/mountains.

Nice castle and place. Good choice of the b/w

I like the BW option also. I regret that the tower hides the highest peak though.

The composition here is quite interesting. The ruins blend and flow with the mountain ranges and their peaks. I don't find it as demarcated as Robert.

I like this composition alot. This is one of my favorites of yours. Compression is bedeviling the image, though...I wish that I could see the actual print, it must be very nice.

 

I agree with the previous critique about halving the image. Perhaps cropping it square (in from the left)would be interesting...?

 

I like your work. Its good to see another analog shooter here.
