The composition is striking with the tree trunk surging up from the bottom left, accentuated by the focusing decision, the sharp textures of bark, the pointy leaves and the very white sky. From looking at your portfolio you obviously know what you're doing, so I'm going to assume the DOF choice is deliberate - I think it's an effective one, because of the emphasis it places on the bark textures (the shot would have been less interesting with all of the elements in focus). I agree that the low rates without comments are irritating. I've been posting some short DOF shots as well, and have had to laugh at the ratings - what can you do! But the reason I found your shot was because I was looking through the TRP in reverse order ;-) This shot is proof that that's always a good way to find interesting images. Best, Jeremy.
