Morning Light on the Mountain

The light on the mountain is awesome. You have no idea, how many times, I have tried to capture Mt. Hood in similar light, but it has been a no go for me so far. I will try again in future...hopefully with better luck.

Have you been to Parkdale? This is a meadow in Parkdale, and my fav side of the mountain. THere are many spectacular sunrises this time of year, with the weather patterns on that side of the mountain. I'd be more than happy to show you the spot, but it's fairly easy to get to...but not much foreground but a meadow...

Yes, I have been to Parkdale...I have a shot of the mountain from Parkdale a little later in the day, but I preferre more visible foreground for the shots like these. There is a place in Hood River, I like to shoot the Mt. Hood from called Panaroma Point County park...but you need a longer lens for the mountain. What I would really like to find is high overlook like Panaroma Point that is close to the mountain on the east side...Know of any such location?

Sure do. You've heard of Lookout Mountain? It used to be an old fire lookout tower. It's up at about 6,000 feet. I think it's off of 14. If ya do a google on it, your bound to find it. I've been there twice. First time, had no clouds...second time, it was a white out...couldn't see 50 feet in front of you.
