robertbrown 1 Posted May 5, 2005 Thanks. I'm working on a series of Calla lily shots--trying to be inventive, if not original. Link to comment
oskar 0 Posted May 5, 2005 No offence meant, but am I supposed to see something? It's all quite yellow... Link to comment
jeremy freeland 0 Posted May 5, 2005 Very abstract, but just enough definition in the tone changes to make it interesting. I do like it. Is it a super close-up at short DOF of the inside of a flower? I think the ratings on this one are a sure sign of having created something worthwhile - great range! Best, Jeremy. Link to comment
zlm 0 Posted May 6, 2005 I really like the idea, and I think with a little more definition it could be really nice. Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted May 6, 2005 Oskar, Jeremy, and Zack: thanks for commenting. Obviously, from the very low ratings, many PN members don't enjoy very abstract stuff. Jeremy, this is a super close-up shot at less than an inch, probably about f22. Link to comment
jeremy freeland 0 Posted May 6, 2005 I agree that most photo.net members who rate don't enjoy this kind of stuff. Those few who do enjoy it rate highly. If I'm not posting chocolate box scenes, I find myself much happier for getting a broad range of ratings than ratings that center on 5's. What you have here, with 6's and 1's, is a pretty good indication that you're producing something more ... what was your word ... challenging. More fun to challenge the gallery than play to it. Best, Jeremy. Link to comment
