I like the irony/humour in the composition. Nice work. Thought I find the green mat in the top 1/3 of the frame distracting. It doesn't add anything to the story in my opinion.

I like your placement and the soft tones. A little bit too much sunlight coming in from the window... you lost the detail in his face and hat. Maybe remove the place mat too. Cute idea.

No, the placemat is good, it adds to the composition. You should remove the man, it detracts from the artistic aspects of the picture.
