aepelbacher 0 Posted May 1, 2005 I know, not too exciting ... but I've been driving past this branch hanging over the fence every day on my way home from work for a couple of weeks now, and just wanted to share it with ya'll. Notice ... my new camera... ;-) Link to comment
janetlee 0 Posted May 1, 2005 I like the angle of the branch and the wood grain. I might have upped the saturation a bit, but maybe not. The subtle tone is nice. Have fun with your Rebel. I do! :-) Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted May 1, 2005 Thanks for the suggestion, Janet. I just did as you suggested, and like the change a lot. I've included the originally posted picture so that everyone can compare. :-) Link to comment
janetlee 0 Posted May 1, 2005 I like it! They both have merit in their own right. Which one is closer to reality? You can adjust the parameters in the Rebel to different levels such as less saturated or more...Check the manual. It's fun! Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted May 1, 2005 Here's the original original ... straight out of the camera. I'm still playing with the settings. It sure is a lot of fun!! :-) Link to comment
dk. 0 Posted May 1, 2005 Nice Flowers Lou Ann, I see you have a new camera, I hope you have some good lenses to go with it, (if you ever want my advise feel free to ask I will help if I can, I have Canon too) that is the most important part of Photography next to the person looking through the camera. ;o) Keep up the good work, all the best to you. sondra kick 0 Posted May 2, 2005 Lou Ann, I tend to like the more saturated version. It livens up the photo, but thats my personal taste. Have fun with your new camera! Cheers, Sondra Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted May 2, 2005 Congratulations on the new camera and welcome to the word of digital. No more film to buy no more waiting to get your prints developed. Yea, yea, yea! Great first shot. Composition is good and color and detail are just right IMHO. Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted May 2, 2005 I really like the saturated version and that it still looks real. How exciting for you with a new camera. I'm getting a new one too sometime in the near futur and the one you chose is on my short list. Enjoy it! Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted May 2, 2005 Hey! the new Rebel in action. I thought the colours looked natural before I read the bit about the re-post. Nice colours and composition. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted May 3, 2005 Good composition and color, Lou Ann. With digital, just go out and experiment all you can as I'm sure you'll learn quite a bit in the process! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 4, 2005 Welcome to the D 300 family...nice first try, good diagonal wood texture and colors.Pnina Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted May 6, 2005 Definitely like the saturated version best. Gives more detail, imo. Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted May 6, 2005 Lou Anne- I love the flowing composition. Color and detail are also nice. Having the curse of the "straight eye" I want to correct the slight lean to the right. Other than that, nice job! Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted May 7, 2005 Thanks, Jayme ... actually, it was tought to straighten the entire image because the fence wasn't the same amount "off" ... and I had to rotate and transform and crop until the lines were here, and that was as good as I was able to do!! :-) Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted May 8, 2005 Easily the best of your most recent flowering tree shots. For me, at least. I guess the absence of bright backlighting and the nice fence behind the blossom, makes this one more enjoyable to look at. Link to comment
